Named Denmark's Best Sparkling Apple Wine at the Danish Wine Show (Dansk Vinskue) 2022.
Sigrid is a dry sparkling apple wine, made from late-harvested Danish Ingrid Marie, Jonagold, and Belle de Boskoop apples. The apples enjoy ideal conditions in the Nordic climate: the swing between cool nights and long, bright days gives them a long ripening that develops a remarkable aroma and a wholly unique acidity profile. The apple juice is cryo-concentrated and each variety is fermented individually for freshness and a touch of fruity sweetness. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle and afterwards the wine matures for at least 15 months, developing complexity and deep flavours.
Notes of ripe apples, apple peel, citrus fruits and conifer.
Serve Sigrid at 8-10 degrees. It makes an unexpected and refined aperitif, or a perfect companion to shellfish, light meats, cheese, and grilled vegetables.
